With the wonderful Hugglet’s show only a week away, I thought you would like a little sneak peek at a few of the bears that will be available on the day!

Xenia (18ins)
A beautiful soft cream mohair/alpaca girl, so tactile, I loved making her collar and bow!

Hickory ( 19ins)
A big chunky boy, created from luxurious, long, dense khaki/taupe alpaca, such an unusual colour!

Lissie (16ins)
Created from my favorite ivory alpaca, this little girl is so pretty and dainty!

Huey – (16ins)
A golden alpaca boy, with such a knowing expression, don’t you think?

Bronte – (18in)
A two tone mohair/alpaca girl, created in the most beautiful colours of vanilla and blue/grey!

Here are a few of the bears I recently created for the Stratford Show which have now found new homes, so I thought I would share them with you!
I am now working on my new collection for the forthcoming Hugglets Teddies 2010 show in September.

Marina approx 19in. Created from ivory alpaca, and the most amazing aqua coloured hand dyed Schulte mohair! Something quite different for me and I’m delighted with her!!

Bellamy approx 18ins – A lovely chunky boy made from vanilla alpaca/mohair and a beautiful tipped wavy Schulte mohair.

Maya approx 16ins. A very pretty dainty girl, created from my favorite ivory dense alpaca!

Melodie approx 18ins. My favorite colours again! Alpaca and a wonderful dense wavy Schulte mohair have been blended together to create this gorgeous girl! She even has some of my handmade little felt flowers, adorning her collar… she was such a joy to create!

Demsey approx 16ins – A real cutie, made from luxurious dense tipped alpaca, in a soft grey with a brown tip…really unusual!

I thought you would like to see a few of the bears that I have been working on over the last few months and have now found new homes.

(From Left) Tiffany, Clementine and Rosanna
With spring in mind, I decided to create a trio of pretty girl bears, in the most wonderful colours of lilac, pink, and lemon, they really cheered me, making them in the depths of winter, hope they bring a smile to your face too!

Rocky (above)
In contrast I also have a few boys, Rocky being a large chunky bear made in the most wonderful, dense luxurious Schulte mohair, difficult to photograph, but I am so pleased with him, his proportions, and profile remind me of those gorgeous black Canadian bears, hence his name!

Orson (above)
Then I have Orson made in my favourite dense vanilla alpaca, very tactile, and so chubby and handsome!

Brody
And lastly Brody created from such fabulous dense golden kid mohair, more traditional in looks with (I think) the sweetest expression!

Hugglets Teddies 2009!!

My stand at Hugglets ( + hubby!) Thanks Jane for the photo!
The day just seemed to fly by…..it was a very busy show..the queue outside Kensington town hall was as long as ever..and as soon as the doors opened collectors flooded in.. all dashing to their chosen stands to make swift purchases!
I’m pleased to say that the Bebbin Bears stand was very busy from the start…with most of the bears finding new homes within the first hour. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces.. and meet new collectors too..although at times I felt overwhelmed not knowing who to chat to first…so do forgive me if I missed you!
As always the organisers Irene and Glenn Jackman did a fantastic job, they always ensure that this event runs like clockwork. From beginning to end this show has a wonderful almost party atmosphere…which is mainly due to their hard work and dedication. So if you have never been to Hugglets..and ever get the chance to attend..do.. I promise you will not be disappointed!
Sad News…
Many of you probably know that I love and adore my cats. Having had three British shorthairs..over the last sixteen years. Well….sadly my last little cat Sophie passed away recently…she was sixteen years old..so quite an old lady..and I know I should have been more prepared for her to leave me…..but oh…how I miss her!! She was the most wonderful little companion..always with me..and loved to be as close as possible…especially when I was sewing! So at the moment I am totally bereft.. and the house is so quite. The only comfort is knowing Sophie’s now free from pain..and I’m sure sleeping peacefully…xx
Teddy Bear Scene Magazine!
I’m so pleased to pass on this piece of good news - I have recently heard from Kathy Martin (editor) that Teddy Bear Scene Magazine is to publish a special pre – Christmas edition in the form of an annual of approx. 100 pages. This will be sold exclusively through WH Smith and should be on the shelves on November 19th! It will be full of teddy related stories, news, and lots of fabulous pictures! So please.. if you loved this magazine in the past..do go along and buy one…who knows if sales are good we may get to resurrect this much loved mag!!!
New Bears!
Yes…I’m back working on new bears…so I should have a few to show you before Christmas..speak again soon!

Welcome to my Blog!!!
Well I’m going to try… writing and editing my blog! But you will have to bear with me (Excuse the pun!).. as this is all very new technology to me!!! But if I can master it..and can talk to you all..its going to be great!
Well…its been a busy few weeks in the Bebbin world! Firstly I was asked by Teddy Bear Times magazine if I would like to have a feature in this months magazine..which of course I was delighted to do! Kirste the editor did a great job…and gave the bears four wonderful pages!!
Then secondly…Teddy Bear Review magazine..contacted me to ask if I would like to contribute to an article they were going to run called “Art of the Deal”..which was going to cover the subject of why Artist Bears cost what they do? Again I was happy to help..and duly sent a few words and a photo of Flora Belle! To my amazement an email arrived to ask if she could be the cover star for the October issue!! …how could I refuse..its a dream come true!!
Hugglets is looming too…and so far so good! I currently have eight bears almost ready..just have to make accessories…which I love to do..all those lovely yarns and threads to play with!!! I’m not going to give to much away just yet..but I had fun making a couple of Panda’s..which have turned out really well..they have new style paw/footpads too!! I will add a small preview in the week before the show.. but there’s still so much to do..hopefully another bear or two to create..pictures to take..admin to do..phew!!..a bear makers life is never dull…talk again soon…
